Managing Low Mood

This course will give women a better understanding of the causes of low mood and will offer a range of strategies that may be helpful in addressing it. We will look at: Myths & truths; different types of depression; areas of change; food, drink & chemical imbalance; exercise; anxiety with depression; relaxation; our senses; Seasonal Affective Disorder and the measure of change.

Managing Anxiety

This course will give women a better understanding of the causes of anxiety and will offer a range of strategies that may be helpful in addressing it. We will look at: Defining anxiety; increasing personal awareness of anxiety management; understanding and practising breathing techniques; introduction of negative thinking and identifying negative thoughts to try and change it. Practising physical and mental relaxation and identifying personal strengths.

Understanding Anger

This course will give women a better understanding of the causes of anger and will offer a range of strategies that may be helpful in addressing it. We will look at: What anger means to us; why do we feel angry; what happens to us, how it affects our lives and relations and strategies to make positive changes.

Managing Stress

Anyone can become stressed, especially with the busy lifestyles we all lead. This course is designed to help women to explore the causes of their stress and to find ways of dealing with it in a positive and creative way. We will look at: Symptoms of stress; different forms of stress and burn out; dealing with anxiety; panic attacks; fears and phobias; increasing stress resistance; low stress diet and life style; self-help and sharing.

Post Natal Wellbeing

This course will help women to understand their postnatal moods, especially those they may be struggling with. It will offer a range of ideas on how to care for themselves and make the experience a more rewarding one. We will look at: Hopes and fears; symptoms; relaxation; challenging unhelpful thoughts; what helps and hinders and food and depression.

Living Naturally with the Menopause

For women approaching and experiencing the menopause. The relaxed and informal course will cover holistic and natural approaches for dealing with symptoms, feelings, relationships and ideas for ageing positively. We will look at; Exploring different Complementary Therapies; nutrition; gentle exercise, including practical tips for self-help and resources to take away.
