Wakefield Counselling

To access Counselling at Trinity Church Gate, Wakefield

You will need to come to one of our drop in times.

  • Mondays 5pm – 7:30pm
  • Fridays 10am – 12:30pm

You can call in at any point during our Drop-In times, and you will meet with one of our dedicated Drop-In staff members. During this time we will talk about what has brought you to the Centre, the services we offer and how we can help you. This will take approximately 20 minutes.

Initial Appointment

If we agree that counselling is the best way forward you will offered a counselling assessment appointment. This will happen within a few weeks of the initial interview and will be carried out by an experienced counsellor. It helps us to ensure you get the right kind of counselling and counsellor. You will also have a chance to ask any questions you may have about counselling.

The wait for counselling varies from 6 weeks to 6 months, depending how busy we are and the times that you are available. Your assessor will tell you how long she thinks you will need to wait. She will also tell you if there is another service where you could access counselling sooner.

We have daytime and evening appointments in Central Wakefield at our Trinity Premises.

  • Monday 10am – 8pm
  • Tuesday 10am – 8pm
  • Wednesday 10am – 8pm
  • Thursday 10am – 6pm
  • Friday 10am – 4pm

Appointments last 50 minutes and will take place at the same time each week.

All of our counsellors work in accordance with the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy written by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
